Our camp 3 is located at the same altitude as the "Berlin camp" (Normal Route); ideally located protected from the winds at the right altitude. From there, you can see the unforgettable scenery of the highest peaks of the Central Andes. We set up our last high altitude camp here. The Guide individually reviews each member of the group and gives his final recommendations. We also plan the final strategies for the last day of ascent to ensure success in reaching the summit. Dinner. |

Early start today. This is the most demanding day of our expedition. We will continue north and join the Normal Route at 6 200m, at some point between the Independence refuge and camp Piedras Blancas. We follow the Normal Route up to the Independence Refuge (6 500m) and from there we switch off and climb to "Portezuelo del Viento", where strong winds blow even on calm days. We pass by the superior part of the western face and climb "La Canaleta", a 300m channel that leads us to the edge of the summit. An hour climb through the "Filo del Guanaco" will lead us directly to the summit. From the "Filo del Guanaco" we can directly observe the southern Wall of the Aconcagua under our feet considered to be one of the largest walls in the world. We are seized by an overwhelming unforgettable sensation as we reach the summit at 6 962m. |
