The Siwa Oasis and the Sea of Sand
This is a trip of 10 days of exploration in the western and southern Egyptian deserts. From Cairo, we head westbound along the Mediterranean coast towards Marsa Matruh and its turquoise waters, before moving to the Southern Deserts. We follow in the footsteps of Alexander the Great towards the Siwa oasis, a green pearl in the middle of the sand that is scattered with 1000 springs, millions of palm trees and ancient historical sites. Our journey turns to the West and into the heart of the Sea of Sand that seems to stretch out forever. We spend our nights under the stars…
White and Black Deserts
At the edge of the great sea of sand, our 4x4s go onto the trails to cross the White Desert and its lunar landscapes, and then the Black Desert with its amazing rock formations that have been sculpted by the wind. We return to civilisation by the Bahareya oasis to see its golden mummies and the Alexander Temple. This is followed by a two day stay in Cairo to visit the ancient wonders of Giza, the Egyptian museum, and the Citadel, as well as the incredible Khan El Khalili Souk.
