Lagoons, lakes, waterways and canals - splendid "backwaters" of Kerala

Kerala, in south-western India, is a land of dense vegetation, and its uniquely famous "backwaters", form a network of 1500km long canals, lagoons, lakes and waterways fed by four main rivers. The network extends along the whole coast of Kerala, making it a vital commercial route for the population.

ITINERARY

Day 1 to 2 :

Flight to Chennai (Madras) and sight seeing

Day 3 to 4 :

Visit of the temples: Mahabalipuram, Kanchipuram,Tirukalikundram et Kanchipuram

Day 5 :

Visit of the most sacred site of Tamilnadu : Tiruvannamalai

Day 6 :

Visit of previous French colony of Pondichéry

Day 7 to 10 :

The beautiful towns of Tanjore,Trichy and Madura

Day 11 :

Drive to Kerala state and visit of the tiger natural reserve

Day 12 :

Cruise on the backwaters of Alleppey. Night on "house boat"

Day 13 :

Cochin

Day 14 to 15 :

Return flight. Arrival
