Recently opened to foreigners due to its proximity to the Chinese border, the north Tibetan plateau is full of natural landscapes and breathtaking scenery. This region is characterised by high, arid plains, snow-capped summits and high-altitude clear-water lakes. Lake Tso Moriri is situated at an altitude of 4500m and is one of the biggest lakes in the Indian Himalayas.

This remote region is only accessible for a few months a year and is home of the Changpa people, who originate from Tibet and are nomadic yak and pashmina goat shepherds. Our trek takes us across the Himalayan Mountains to their settlings. Far from the modern world, these people are a testimony to a unique culture. Our trek will follow the west bank of the lake until we reach the wild countryside of Spiti, where snow-peaked summits tower in the background.
