Day 1: Flight to Kathmandu
Departure of international flight to Katmandu. Participants having booked the land arrangements only, will meet the group on following day in Katmandu..
Day 2: Katmandu (1 300m)
On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport you are welcomed by our staff who take you to your hotel. Our team will meet you and will go over the planning of the trek. Our guide will check your equipment. You will be given orientation of the area and other related interesting information about Nepal. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 3: Sightseeing of Kathmandu
Cultural day: you will visit some of the most important areas of Kathmandu. Our guide will pick you up at the hotel right after breakfast. The day will be dedicated to visit: Pashupatinath, one of the holiest Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva; Boudhanath, one of the biggest Stupas in the world; Syambhunath with an amazing view on Kathmandu and finally the famous and busy Durbar Squar.
Day 4: Katmandu - Lukla - Phakding (approx. 3h walk)
In the morning, you are taken to the airport for a short domestic flight to Lukla. In Lukla you will have time to take a cup of tea and feel the dynamic atmosphere of this magic town; our team sorts and prepares the loads of equipments and bags on the Zopkyos (mix breed of Yak & normal cow). Then we will start our trek : the walk is along a pleasant trail from Tarhe khola, you will have a superb view of the Kusum-Kangru. Then after a short ascent, you reach the village of Ghat; one hour later you will reach Phakding a very nice village in a beautifull green valley. Overnight stay at camp.
Day 5: Trek to Namche Bazaar (approx. 5h walk)
The walk is pleasant with few short uphill and downhill hikes and magnificent views of Thamserku. You will cross the long suspended bridge before arriving at the small village of Monjo. Monjo is located below the magnificent peak of Thamserku and near the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park where we show our trekking permit. Then the trail follows the khumbu river all the way up to Namche Bazaar against the backdrop of the beautiful Kwangde, Kusum Kangru, Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Tawache. Namche Bazaar is the capital of Sherpa country and the main town of the valley. Overnight stay at camp.
Day 6: Namche Bazaar
Resting day for acclimatization. Overnight stay at camp.
Day 7: Trek to Tengboche (approx. 6h walk)
From Namche the walk to Tashinga is an easy and pleasent hike of about three hours. Then, the trail slowly goes down passing through the village of Tashinga. Then you will have to go up for about 2 hours in this unique rhododendron forest to reach Tengboche. The afternoon is free for exploring the area or you could spend the afternoon resting. Overnight stay at camp.
Day 8: Trek to Pheriche (approx. 5h walk)
We descend towards Imja Khola river, then climb up to Pheriche passing by Pangboche where you will visit the oldest monastery in the Khumbu valley. Overnight stay at camp.
Day 9: Pheriche
Resting day for acclimatization. Overnight stay at camp.
Day 10: Trek to Lobuche (approx. 5h walk)
With the altitude being higher, the trail leaves the green valley . After a 2 hour hike, the trail brings you over small wooden bridges passing the Khumbu river before reaching Dugla. From this small village , you could feel the effects of high altitude. There is another 2 hour hike before reaching Lobuche. Overnight stay at camp.
Day 11: Trek to Kalapatthar - EVEREST'S MOST FAMOUS VIEW (approx. 8-9h walk)
After breakfast, you will go to one of the most famous part of the region : The Kalapatthar, the foot of Mt. Everest. You will trek up the valley following the rocky moraine path. After the last rocky moraine dunes, a short downhill walk brings you to Gorakshep on the flat field below Kalapatthar and Mt.Pumori. Gorakshep is the location of the original Everest Base Camp. The walk is gradual till you reach the rocky spot after an hour walk. With all the higher snow capped giants that dominate all around, it is truly a magnificent spot to be at on a clear sunny day. Overnight stay at camp.
Day 12: Trek to Mount Everest base camp and back to Lobuche.
We follow the same trail until Gorakshep, then we go north. In terms of landscapes and mountains ...Everest, Lhotse, Ama dablam .... You have an deep desire of wanting to summit one of these peaks ... . Overnight stay at camp.
Day 13: Trek to Dingboche
We walk back and turn east towards Dingboche with close up views of the giant peaks. The trek back will be easier with mostly downhill all the way passing through the villages. Overnight stay at camp.
Day 14: Trek to Chukhung (Approx. 4-5h walk)
Today we trek east from Dingboche into the Chhukhung Valley. It lies directly under an incredible rock wall that links Nuptse with Lhotse. Overnight stay at camp.
Day 15: Trek to Island Peak base camp (approx. 4-5h walk)
Trek along the Imja Khola to Pareshaya Gyab, a pleasant site by a small lake with fine views of the Lhotse Glacier and Nuptse-Lhotse wall. Today you will reach the Base Camp of ISLAND PEAK. Once the camp has been set up, you will be free to get your climbing gears in order and get organized for tomorrow's peak ascension. Our guide will take the necessary time to help train you. Overnight stay at camp.
Day 16: Climb to High Camp (approx. 4-5h walk)
We go up to the High Camp at 5 700m. Overnight stay at camp.
Day 17: SUMMIT DAY - - - ISLAND PEAK
You will start early in the morning to climb the summit. The ascent is strenuous because of the altitude but not dangerous. Our guide will secure the route and you will walk near the ice fall below the summit. The group will reach the summit. After summiting, we will go back the base camp and then down to Chhukhung. Overnight stay at camp.
Day 18: Trek to Tengboche (approx. 6-7h walk)
Retrace your way back to Dingboche along Imja Khola.The trail passes through Upper and Lower Pangboche and then through Devoche. Overnight stay at camp.
Day 19: Trek Tengboche to Namche (approx. 6h walk)
The walk from Tengboche is mostly downhill. The walk to Namche is very scenic on a long winding path. Overnight stay at camp.
Day 20: Trek to Lukla (approx. 6h walk)
The last day of your trek from Namche to Lukla is easy and pleasant. Overnight stay at camp.
Day 21: Flight Lukla to Kathmandu
in the morning, we take an early flight to Kathmandu. We check in at the hotel early afternoon where you enjoy the comfort of your hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 22: Kathmandu
A free day in Kathmandu, you can discover the city and the different shops in the Kathmandu valley looking for trinkets and Nepalese crafts to take home as souvenirs. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 23: Return flight
Transfer to airport for those having booked the international flight. The remaining participants will check out after breakfast.
