Amazing Landscape Diversity
This is a classic Nepalese trek and an amazing journey. In 1977, the first foreigners were allowed to travel through this region and since then the reputation of the Annapurnas has continued spreading. Few places in the Himalayas offer such diverse landscapes, plant-life, ethnic groups, and cultures. First, we travel across subtropical forests and the terraced rice paddies of the Chhettris, Gurungs, Magars and Newas at the bottom of the valley. We then cross the deciduous forest, the higher-up alpine forest and Tibetan villages. In the north, where the Himalayan range deprives the Manang region from rain, lies the rolling, windswept desert terrain that is a stark contrast against the deep blue skies and towering white peaks of the mountains.
An astonishing beauty !
Although this is not a difficult trek, it still requires some trek experience and good physical condition, especially as we will be crossing the high Thorong pass, which is challenging. However, you will be rewarded by the beautiful scenery of this trek, as there are fantastic mountain views of high summits such as Manaslu (8 156m) or Himalchuli (7 893m). Despite seeing them every day, they will not fail to take your breath away, right up to the end.
