Peru's Wild Landscapes
After visiting Cuzco as well as the archeological sites of the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu, you will journey to Tinqui, which is the starting point of your expedition. The Ausangate is located in the Cordillera of Vilcanota, south of Cuzco, with an altitude of 6 372m. This mountain is a great example of an Andean summit and is worshipped by the Queshua people, who think of it as a protective god. The Cordillera Vilcanota is one of the wildest landscapes in Peru - trekkers and mountaineers will be amazed by its contrasts, high summits, Laguna’s and Quebradas...
In the heart of the Peruvian Andes
You will be amazed by the beauty of the Cordillera de Vilcanota with its lakes, high altitude glaciers, and isolated communities. It is here that we find Ausangate, the sacred mountain of the south Andean people, who still live by their ancient traditions that date back to the pre-colonial era.
